COURSE OVERVIEW

In this video I cover what you’ll need to follow along with the course: Speed Tree (free 30-day trial from Unity, export-limited but fully usable for the lessons), Blender (free), Photoshop or the free browser-based alternative Photopea, and an AI image generator like Midjourney (any AI tool works). I preview the types of assets we’ll build, including grass, flowers, bushes, and trees, and show an example grass shader with adjustable diffuse color, built-in color variation, random color clustering, and seasonal changes. I then walk through the consistent workflow used for every asset in the course: model it in Speed Tree, generate a color map with an AI tool, create an opacity map in Photoshop, generate the normal map inside Blender, reimport it into Speed Tree for a quick preview, then export the finished mesh as an FBX to build the final shader with all maps plugged in back in Blender.
