BUSH CREATION PART 02
In this video I add a new branch system to carry the bush’s foliage, showing how the Stop Shape Control checkbox lets a specific branch system ignore the trunk’s overall Sphere shape when needed. I tune internode spacing, spread, spiral, and variance for a natural, non-uniform branch layout, then introduce the Batch Leaves node, my preferred way to add foliage since it instances a single leaf mesh far more efficiently than individual leaf geometry. I work through the Orientation tab (sky influence, fold, curl, and alignment settings, usually keeping Align near 1 so leaves don’t clash with branches), apply the leaf cutout material set to Any for variation between two shapes, and adjust size with randomized variance so leaves aren’t uniformly identical. I use the F key to isolate a single branch for focused tweaking, then Shift+Ctrl+F to bring everything back into view, and increase leaf density via internode length and ancestor settings for fuller coverage. With foliage looking solid, I set up to add flowers next, using Stop Shape Control again to keep that system’s branch lengths independent of the trunk’s sphere shape.
