BUSH CREATION PART 03

In this video I add flowers to the bush, following the same support-structure approach used for the standalone flower asset. I create a single top branch (Classic mode, zero frequency, Extend Parent set to Any) to act as an anchor, then a second placeholder branch system with reduced noise and Stop Shape Control checked so it’s independent of the trunk’s sphere shape, giving it a Front node for the actual petal geometry. I reuse the flower petal material and texture from the earlier flower asset, adjusting the cutout, width, and gravity so the front geometry reads correctly, and go back into Photoshop briefly to lighten a color map that felt too dark with a curve adjustment. Back in Speed Tree, I build a second, smaller “lower” petal material and cutout for variation, then spend time refining boundary position, spine curve, width, and orientation (including randomizing and adding variance) so the flowers sit naturally near the top of the branch structure without looking too small, thin, or uniformly angled, while keeping an eye on the growing polygon count.
