FLOWER CREATION PART 02

In this video I generate the leaf color texture using Midjourney, using ChatGPT to help craft a more precise prompt (top-down macro photo of a single leaf, flat lighting, clean background) so the result doesn’t fight with scene lighting. In Photoshop I clean up the generated image with the Pen tool and layer masks, build an opacity map the same way I did for the grass (sampling a background color from the leaf itself, contracting the selection by two pixels for clean edges), and export both maps. Back in Speed Tree, I apply the material to the leaf’s Front node and use the cutout editor to trace the actual leaf silhouette, comparing against my reference images to get stem placement and proportions right. I refine the branch/leaf shape by adjusting gravity curves, tessellation, and origin position, then add folding, curling, and noise to the leaf geometry for a more natural, organic look, making sure the cutout has enough definition at the fold points to hold the shape properly.
